The Art of Piano February 2026

The St Columb’s Hall Concerto Award is a very special part of our annual concert series.

n February 2026, the Award was presented to Irish pianist Rowel Friers. The decision was closely contested, with exceptional performances also delivered by Marco Antonio Reyes Cervantes (Mexico) and Vilhelm Moqvist (Sweden). The overall standard across all participants was extremely high.

Each winner performs a concerto with Le Foyer des Artistes at our Midsummer Concert, before continuing on to recital appearances at partner venues across Europe. In June 2026, Rowel Friers will perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Le Foyer des Artistes ensemble.
